What hours are you staffed daily?

Our standard pet lodging hours at Northland Pet Lodge are 6:30 AM to 9:00 PM daily. We understand that schedules can vary, so we may be able to accommodate drop-off and pick-up requests outside of these hours. Please contact us in advance to discuss your specific needs. You can find our regular business hours detailed above.

Are there any days that you are closed?

While Northland Pet Lodge is closed for pet drop-offs and pick-ups on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, our dedicated staff remains on-site to provide full care for our boarding pets. This means your dog or cat will still enjoy all their normal playtime, attention, and loving care during the holiday season. We prioritize your pet's well-being, even on holidays.

What is provided with my pet’s lodging stay?

We provide all essential amenities for your pet's comfort at Northland Pet Lodge. This includes water bowls, cozy blankets, and food dishes. To ensure optimal hygiene, we wash and sanitize all these items, as well as our kennels, daily.

What do I need to bring for my pet’s stay?

We recommend bringing your pet's own food, treats, and a few toys from home. These familiar items will help them feel more at ease and comfortable during their stay at Northland Pet Lodge.

Do I need to bring my pet’s food?

To ensure your pet's digestive health, please bring their food in a Ziploc bag or plastic Tupperware container. Label the container with your pet's name, the feeding amount, and the number of feedings per day. Please refrain from bringing large containers or full bags of food unless your pet is boarding for an extended period. We provide Nutri-Source Adult food for $1.00 per feeding as an alternative.

Can I visit my pet while at Northland Pet Lodge?

Absolutely! We understand the importance of bonding with your pet. You are welcome to visit your pet during our regular business hours, and you can even take them offsite for some quality time. Please check our website for our business hours.

What grooming services are offered?

We offer a variety of grooming services, including a complimentary bath for dogs staying three or more consecutive nights. For detailed information on all our grooming options and pricing, please see our grooming page.

Can you administer medication to my pet during their stay?

Yes, we can administer your pet's medications. We charge $1.00 per pill or standard shot per administration. For insulin, allergy, or other specialized shots, the cost is $3.00 per shot per administration. We ensure accurate and timely medication administration for your pet's health.

What vaccinations do you require?

For the safety and well-being of all our canine guests, we require current vaccinations for Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella. We also require a recent fecal examination or proof of deworming.

Feline guests need to be current on Rabies and Distemper.

Do you have veterinarian on site?

No, we do not have a veterinarian on-site. However, we have a close relationship with Crosslake Veterinary Hospital, which is conveniently located less than 2 miles from facility. This ensures prompt and professional veterinary care for your pet when needed.

What is your policy regarding dogs that do not get along with others?

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our canine guests, we are no longer accepting new dogs that are not comfortable in a group play setting.

Can multiple dogs stay together?

Yes, absolutely! We allow same-family dogs to share a kennel or a lodge suite at our facility. This allows your pets to stay comfortable and together during their stay.

Can my cat and dog stay together?

No, dogs and cats cannot stay together in the same kennel. For the safety and comfort of our feline guests, all cats stay in our dedicated kitty condos.

What is Nitenpyram?

Nitenpyram is an oral flea control tablet effective for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. It is suitable for animals weighing 2 pounds or more and aged 4 weeks or older.

My dog is already on flea prevention medication. Why do you administer a Nitenpyram?

We administer Nitenpyram to all canine guests upon check-in as a proactive measure to ensure a flea-free environment. This fast-acting medication begins killing fleas within 30 minutes and lasts for 24 hours. It's a vital safety protocol to prevent fleas from entering our facility and to protect both your pet and our premises.
